The infant classes through the three year old classes are divided into four month age intervals. The four and five year old classes are divided into six month age intervals. This enables us to not only keep children in the appropriate class chronologically, but also academically. If the class you need is not available, we will be glad to place your name on a waiting list and call you when a space is available. We open at 7:00 a.m. and our day program ends at 6:00 p.m. At 6:00 p.m. the evening care program begins and parents who may be running late or caught in traffic will not have to worry about their child. We do ask that parents call to let us know that they are going to be past 6:00 p.m. so that we will have the correct amount of staff to care for the children.

     We have an open door policy at Children's Discovery Center. Parents are allowed to come and visit their child any time during the day without an appointment. Parents are also welcome anytime to help with crafts, read books, or observe their child interacting with the other children. Parents must approve anyone who will be picking up or dropping in to see their child for any reason. Everything we do at CDC must be covered in writing and if you have not filled out an application form with all the extra forms from the NC State Day Care Licensing, be prepared to have writer s cramp. In addition, some of the forms are required to be updated every six months.

Our program at CDC is a guaranteed program. This means that when you sign your child up for care whether it be part time or full time, you are required to pay for the time you have reserved for your child. We have a 30 day written notice policy to change days of care or drop a child from our program. This gives us time to change the classroom numbers and possibly call someone from our wait list to offer a position in our school. At Children's Discovery Center, we offer a friendly, loving environment for the children and one of help and cooperation for the parents.
